Adult Obesity

The Departments of Surgery and Internal Medicine are interested in examining obesity prevalence in Wisconsin and describing obese populations.

Smoking Cessation

CTRI, the UW Center for Tobacco Research and Intervention, and PHINEX are interested in examining disparities related to the receipt of smoking cessation counseling and developing interventions utilizing the electronic health record to improving cessation rates.

Predictive Analytics

The Center for Predictive Computational Phenotyping and collaborators from across the PHINEX network are interested in inducing predictive models by applying machine learning methods to patient histories. Most recently, they explored the task of using EHR data to predict asthma execrations for patients known to be asthmatic.
